When the St. Joseph Mercy Day Hospital's patient population of heterogeneous pathology presented numerous treatment and scheduling problems, staff developed a two track program which groups patients by level of functioning and degree of pathology. Staff's clinical observations suggest that a two track program has resulted in greater therapeutic gains for both high and low functioning patients and allowed both groups the opportunity to deal with relevant therapeutic material at a level suitable for that population. |
