This article reviews the nature of scnilc dcmentia. including complicating factors, and identifies concepts basic to psychosocial intervention and the disease. It thcn critically exaniincs the variety of psychosocial intervention approaches addressed in the literature and discusses their application to the practice of psycho-social occupational therapy. The findings point to a vibrant and increasingly important role for occupational therapy within this rapidly developing area of rehabilitation. |
