SummaryThe following paper describes a systems project carried out in a secondary school which involved members of the School Psychological Service, specialist teachers and social workers working with a whole school staff to suggest systems and procedural changes in the school. The project utilised working parties of teachers, students and consultants to discuss and propose school changes. There were a number of practical outcomes to the project which took place over an academic year, including the setting up of a Student Council. Interestingly, in an evaluation one year later, many of those who took part spoke of the improved communication between staff and students which had resulted. The paper concludes with some implications for educational psychologists.
