AbstractA computer model of physically‐based and empirical micro‐meteorological equations has been assembled to estimate the total radiation (short and long wave) that would be absorbed by a person in a range of landscapes. This information can be applied to a human thermal comfort model such as COMFA suggested by Brown and Gillespie (1986) to determine the thermal comfort levels in micro‐environments. This type of information will aid landscape architects in making climatically‐sensitive planning and design decisions.
