dc.description AbstractThe relationship between class size (recruitment) and performance (average mark) at an English University was examined. The study included 31 subject areas over a period of seven years from 1986‐87 to 1992‐93. It was found that, across the majority of the subject areas, performance declines as the number of students recruited onto the module increases.
