AbstractOver a ten year period two inner Sydney suburbs, previously very different soci-economically, had become increasingly similar. Gentrification had operated much later in Redfern than Paddington, resulting in both a spatial and temporal continuum in the inner city in terms of socio-economic characteristics, land use and resident attitudes to development.
