Is there any real difference between teaching people to ‘read’ audio-visual material and using audio-visual material to teach people? A teaching package on ‘audio-visual communication’ is thought to speak about media, while a package on, say, ‘microprocessors’ is thought to speak about the world. However, the main work of both packages is actually to produce a particular kind of spectator. |
