AbstractWhereas lexical homonymy has been the subject of many papers, morphological homonymy has, so far, been given less attention, though it is a phenomenon occurring in most languages. Its presence in the language is usually stated without any deeper analysis. About morphological homonymy we learn as early as 1931 from B. Trnka. ¹ Another paper by the same author, viz. “On Morphemic Homonymy”, ² may serve as a basis of a deeper and more extensive analysis of this phenomenon.
