Religions liberals have always had trouble with the education of their children, for the schools and churches at hand have not always been under liberal guidance. To clarify the issue, we invited five of them to give answers to three questions in writing:First, what would I want, without fail, to include in the religious education of my child?Second, what am I most anxious to exclude from my child's religious education?Third, what difficulties have I experienced in getting what I want from even a liberal church school?The diversity of their replies, with yet an undercurrent of thought common to them all, make the symposium all the more interesting to other liberals who are troubled about the religious education of their children.
