Acupuncture has been advocated as a safe effective treatment for addictive diseases. This review highlight clinical trials using acupuncture in drug treatment. Clinical trials selected were those conducted for efficacy of accupuncture treatment with opiate, alcohol, cocaine, and nicotine dependence.
