Recent advances in genetic engineering, and especially recombinant DNA technology, have widespread applications to medicine and agriculture, and this impact has been felt by both basic research and industry. Coincident with the book in biotechnology is the proliferation of new books, journals, and other adjunct literature. Librarians must make certain that their collections are adequate to the task of serving the scientist as well as the corporate manager. Monographs, periodicals, patents, abstracting and indexing services-manual and computerized-are discussed. A list of sources is included. |
