An appreciation is presented of the creation of automated library systems. The substituting of data base searches for the use of print bibliographies is commented on, and electronic interlibrary lending and the cooperative acquiring of materials are considered. Other matters touched upon are computer to computer exchanges, traditional and electronic forms of delivery, and automated circulation systems.
