| dc.description | To take full advantage of an integrated system, a library must re-examine its processing routines. Acquisitions and Cataloging departments are discovering that many of their functions overlap. The University of South Florida Library created a new unit consisting of both Acquisitions and Cataloging staff to process approval books. During a six-month Pilot-Project, this unit tested a new integrated workflow. Positive benefits included: streamlining of procedures, a reduced cataloging backlog, faster turnaround time for new books, and a cleaner database. |
