ABSTRACTOutshopping is an area of concern, particularly for retailers located in smaller communities. Although outshopping has been the focus of significant research over the past several decades, the findings of these studies have often provided little practical relevance for the small retailer being outshopped. The objective of this paper is to present an alternative perspective for viewing the phenomenon of outshopping- an alternative which may be a better understanding of this activity.
