ABSTRACTDo all firms forecast the same? This paper compares forecasting behavior between manufacturers and service-oriented firms and examines questions such as who does the forecasting, how often do they do forecasts, for what areas are forecasted, what techniques are used, why they do it, what are the forecasting results, and are they satisfied or dissatisfied. Significant differences in forecasting behavior between the two industrial groupings are examined and conclusions made.
