ABSTRACTDentists from Jacksonville, Florida, participated in a mail questionnaire, the purpose of which was to examine the effect of understanding customer expectations on sales/revenues for professional service providers. The findings support the idea that a better understanding of customer expectations does appear to have a relationship with sales revenues. In addition to this primary question, correlates of sales revenues, correlates of marketing activity among dentists, and a qualitative analysis of dental marketing issues were conducted.
